Sounds like a need to expose 240v somewhere.

I think the keys are readily available, so not even pliers are needed.

Why not ask your leccy supplier. I am sure its not a new problem.

Steve.

Subject: [ukha_d] Electricity Boxes - Ownership ?

It seems the young kids of the village have a new game, it's called
switching off people's MAINS POWER.

I live in a newish house, and the electricity box and meter are
mounted at the front of the house next to the garage.

The box uses those triangle shaped keys, but are very easy to open
with a pair of long-nose pliers.

I want to be able to secure the box, but i'm not sure on the
legality, as I think the box is actually owned by Manweb.

Choices are to put a lock barrel on, or a magnetic lock.

Problem is, that the elctricity board come to read the meter, and I
don't think they will be too happy about not being able to access it.

Any ideas ?
