I'm trying to remember the web site address for the guy who built the 100% certified error free digital transport cable and offered t sell it for $1,600 (or thereabouts) - he had built it and tested it using some pretty high spec equipment including test kit from Dolby which counted recoverable and unrecoverable errors in the digital data stream and it had passed with flying colours.

However ... the cable had been made by slicing a cheapo Radio Shack audio patch cord in half and soldering the two now seperate ends to opposite ends on an untwisted metal coat hanger.

A bit off topic but I know we have some audio buffs out there.

What difference does it make to the sound quality between using an expensive or cheap CD transport or interconnect lead assuming the AtoD conversion is being carried out in the amp, surly the data is digital, its ether there or not so how can it be changed by the hardware?
