Whey hey ... It gets better!

About an hour ago I finally got through and reported the fault to the Home Highway fault desk, I was asked by the guy on the desk (who's name I didn't take a note of much to my distress) to unplug the cable between the ISDN TA and the Home Highway wall box and swap it end to end as "sometimes you have to let the signals go the other way down the cable"...

...when I said that it wasn't that easy as the cable was running through a conduit then I was told that I shouldn't do that, that was the cause of the problem and that the cable shouldn't run near any others. (OK ... a small bit of truth in that statement from the BT guy but disproved quickly enough by just running a spare cable that I had.)

Jeez!
