Funnily enough something I am working on at the moment. I have got some
12volt water valves and ends to connect to copper tubing (and then the
hose)
from RS www.rswww.com which I am hoping will do the trick.

12v water valve - 342-043 around ?9.50 each and sold singly
Compression adapter - 342-039 around ?1.50 each and also sold singly

I am going to use Maplin tiny switches (can't remember exactly what they
are
but they are about ?3 inc the waterproof cover and i am getting them
tonight) to give me external control via HV as well as being able to
program
on/off times etc.

I am planning to run 12volts to the valves via relays controlled from HV as
it's dirt cheap and more reliable than X-10. Sometime I plan to put in a
flow sensor to check the valves have turned off when they shoud have but
one
step at a time.

Hope this helps and if you need any more info drop me a line.

Ian

Does anyone have any experience with extending HA to do irrigation ? I
would
like to be able to schedule watering of the garden and have the pond topped
up automatically if the water level falls below a certain level. I have
already got a 'float switch' so I can tell if the water level drops below
my
minimum, but I now want a mechanism for topping the pond up. The logic and
control will be via HomeVision and Comfort.

Regards

Graham
