Yeah that's fine, I implemented something much the same until I decided to
go the scripting route, which in the end made things a little easier.

Well there are a couple of ways to do it. You can POST the data back to
the server (look at the guestbook part in the source) or you can allow a
command in the URL eg

http://myserver/execute?B1,ON

or something similar...
