Hi all,

this morning I got some (more) junk mail that I very nearly threw away
without opening, however, since it mentioned "TV that you
control" on the
envelope, I though I'd take a look...

It's from a company called "HomeChoice" which is a Video On
Demand service.

The bit that got me interested though, is that they provide a Video on
Demand service on BT ADSL. - from what I have read (including the small
print), their "minimum" TV package is just £6 month, (which gives
you just 1
genre), BUT they also offer an internet service for a flat £20/month.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems to me like it would be
possible
to get an ADSL internet service for £26 per month, with a free set-top box,
and a couple of VOD channels thrown in as well? (plus standard installation
charges of £40)

Not sure how they can be offering it cheaper than BT charge for the lines
though (It definately uses BT's ADSL service, it says so in the
literature),
also, I don't quite see how they can offer a VOD service without a
guaranteed minimum bandwith? (50:1 contention of 512K is NOT enough for a
video channel at full contention!)

Has anyone heard of these guys? - it has definately peaked my interest...

Paul G.
