I was thinking of turning the ring off on all my handsets. (From memory, I
think all my handsets have a ringer on/off switch), and then let Homeseer
phone (or Perhaps Comfort) handle announcing the incoming calls. - I
already
have HomeSeer announcing "Incoming call from..." for just about
every
incoming call, (just a few little tweaks to be ironed out) over speakers
dotted around my house which is audible from just about everywhere in the
house. (actually, this announcement currently fights to be heard with the
phones ringing at the same time!...)
Same result - no ringing on the phones, no adverse effect on making
outgoing
calls. - Only problem is of course that I'm then reliant on the Homeseer PC
which is a single point of failure...
Also, When the Homeseer Phone Black Box is available, it can be setup to
silence the first 2 rings anyway, - enough for Homeseer Phone to decide how
the call should be managed...
