Hi Andy,

If all you want to do is feed 5 displays with the SAME signal then...

TX from PC connected to all 5 RX lines for the displays should work without
problems. As long as the data is ONLY from PC to displays it is easy. What
you cant do that easily is 5 keypads feeding 1 PC (ie 5 TX into 1 RX).

Subject: [ukha_d] Split serial cable for LCD displays

Hi,

does anyone know of a device that will take a single serial cable signal
from a PC and split it into 5 so that 5 'zones' get the same data? Or is it
just a case of wiring up the 5 'zones' to the same serial port... ? The
idea
is to have LCD displays (like those from http://www.milinst.demon.co.uk/
)
dotted around the house for status displays.

Ta,

Andy
