I know there was a discussion around PDA's recently and I must admit I like
the idea of a PDA that can surf my home LAN for when I finish my web based
home control system (if I ever get time !). I was interested in the iPaq
but
have been following a few threads on the microsoft.public.pocketpc
newsgroup
and it appears that the iPaq has several quite common problems. Do any of
you who own the iPaq have any problems with it ? Here is a quote from a
recent post:

>Well, I knew it would happen, 3 weeks gone by and finally I get the
>fatal screen reverse problem... doh!
>
>IPAQ has been cool, fast and sexy (if you can describe a bit of
>hardware that way!) But I've got all the problems you could have I
>think...
>
>1. Dust under screen, quite a bit now.
>2. Speaker pop
>3. Occiasional total lockup
>4. Strange Today screen proble not showing all the screen
>5. Couple of little scratches on the screen from Stylus
>6. Multiple buttons not working at once
>7. And now, screen reversed!

Many of these problems seem to be encountered by several posters, I really
don't want to fork out this amount of cash on something that is really not
reliable. Any thoughts ?

Regards

Graham
