Don't count on it though. Cable from our bedroom light switch runs
diagonally from the switch to the corner of the room. Discovered whilst
wall
mounting some speakers, but sadly only after a couple of the holes were
already drilled.

On a related note, are any of those 'cable detector' gadgets any good? My
one seems capable of determining that there is a cable in a wall, but has
no
useful sensitivity for working out where the cable is (unless my walls
really do have a mesh of live mains cables embedded in them).
