Should be deeper than 2", or mechanically protected (metal
conduit).  Should means 'usually are, but not always'.  You don't need much
of a hole made for data cables, even a 1" deep effort will allow you
to run
some cat5 and an empty 20mm conduit, at a pinch.

1 Acro-prop, every square metre or so, jack it up gradually, about 2"
per
year, no-one will notice

Are the walls solid or plasterboard?  Cables in walls should (and almost
always do) run in a vertical or horizontal line from outlets, switches etc,
or within 6" of a wall or wall-roof corner.  It might be easier to run
cables at, under or behind the skirting board etc?

It sounds tricky though, wireless is probably a good choice for you, though
it's not as much use for networking, audio, video etc if you want those.
