For the UK, it would need to be mains rated, and avoiding exposed metal to
remove the need to start earthing things... I notice your email address is
.nz (New Zealand?), if that's where you are, it'd be best to check local
regulations with an electrical/electronics engineer.

The switch doesn't actually switch 240V, but it's got no barrier between it
and 240V (semiconductors don't count), so [in the UK] its insulation needs
to be rated for 240V.
