FYI - The second public beta release of S.N.A.P Encoder/Decoder
DLL (Version 0.84) have just been uploaded to our web-site.

The S.N.A.P Encoder/Decoder DLL is a *FREE* 32-bit Windows DLL
and can be used with VB, VC, Delphi or any other programming
language that is capable to call DLL's. This tool will minimize
the time needed to implement S.N.A.P in your own application
programs as well as giving you statistic functions and the
possibility to spy on all network traffic! Included in the
ZIP-file is simple program examples for Microsoft Visual Basic.

What is S.N.A.P?
----------------

S.N.A.P (Scaleable Node Address Protocol) is an free and open
network protocol. The protocol was primary developed for PLM-24
based home automation and control systems but it is a generic
protocol and not limited to this. Due to it's scaleability it
suits well in small MCU's and embedded systems with limited
resources.

S.N.A.P can be used in any type of applications where an easy to
learn and light weighted network protocol is needed.

Features.

- Easy to learn, use and implement.
- Free and open network protocol.
- Free development tools available.
- Scaleable binary protocol with small overhead.
- Requires minimal MCU resources to implement.
- Up to 16.7 million node addresses.
- Up to 24 protocol specific flags.
- Optional ACK/NAK request.
- Optional command mode.
- 8 different error detecting methods (Checksum, CRC, FEC etc.).
- Can be used in master/slave and/or peer-to-peer.
