Hi,

I am looking at buying Homevision and just had a couple of questions.=
Hopefully someone will have tried some of these already

The intention is for the physical Homevision box to be located downstairs=
in the livingroom - all my PCs are upstairs, I do however have a CAT5=
cable laid from my computer room to the livingroom. What connections are=
required for the Homevision serial interface - ie can I just use pins=
2,3,7 (Crossed? Uncrossed?). The actual cable run is approx (very)
<20m.=
Is this a viable option? I can just about pursuade my wife to let me have=
my home cinema speakers all over the place but a PC in the livingroom is a=
*DEFINATE* no no. The reason for this is that I'm working on an MP3=
jukebox and want to be able to control it from downstairs with the server=
upstairs...It would also mean that I wouldn't have to unplug the=
Homevision box and bring it upstairs every time I wanted to program it!=
Since I want to use the IR receive features of the Homevision (controlled=
via my Pronto) I'd rather the box was downstairs where I can see it=
performing it's magic.

I noticed that the Homevision unit also has a IR output - can this be used=
with the wired IR available from www.smarthome.com or does it need a=
'special' emitter - I'd like the Homevision unit to send some IR commands=
but to other zones in the house..

Any comments or info on the above greatly appreciated.

Andy
