Re: Surge suppressors and PC power supplies
Hi Tim,
Try fitting a suppressor to the PC.
It already has one to stop interference getting out but as I said earlier
it is a reversed one and is designed to short out interference on the mains
side of the PC. Unfortunately this means it kills the X10. By fitting a
suppressor that is designed to stop interference getting into a piece of
kit it should stop the X10 signals getting to the capacitors that are
killing the X10. Might not work but its worth a try.

Subject: [ukha_d] Surge suppressors and PC power supplies
I've done some investigating, and it is the PC power supply and not the
surge surpressors that are causing the X-10 problems.
X-10 works flawlessly with the PC unplugged, but as soon as it is plugged
in, whether switched on or not X-10 starts failing.
Obviously unplugging the PC is not an option. Is there anything I can do to
isolate the power supply? The problem could be related to the fact that
both
the IR interface and CM11U are plugged into a socket about 2 feet away from
the PC. Short of running an extension lead across the floor there is not an
awful lot I can do about this.
