I just used my ears... seemed ok to me but I'll try dropping the output
particularly as the same cable will carry video too.

I suspect that if you send broadband noise and look at the other end on a
spectrum analyser, you should see some drop-off at high frequencies. Cat-5
is about 50pF/m, total 1.5nF for your run. Assuming impedances of about 1k
ohm, the roll-off 3dB point would be over 100kHz, so the effect at audio
frequencies should be _very_ slight.
