RE: [OT] Domain Renewal Scam?

Very misleading. The entire US registry is available to basically anybody
for download. I downloaded it about three years ago when I used to run a
Directory service. At that time there were about 60 million entries in it.
You have to sign a declaration that you will not use the contents for
spamming or commercial gain but obviously this is hardly enforceable.
Domain
Registry of America are actually the worst offenders. Lots of my customers
were only spared this scam because I set the registered owners address to
be
my own. I used to get loads of these every day but I just posted them back
with not known at this address scrawled on the front.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Domain Renewal Scam?

Had 2 letters this week from "Domain Registry of America" for
renewals on some of my domains.

I was suspicious as I hadn't heard of, or registered with this company.

Looks like it's misleading (at best).
