I had it running as a service - but it has problems.

If you run it as a service, using the system account, then it starts up and does not recognise itself as registered - doesnt have all the settings.

if I log in as administrator (where i set it all up) then it's fine - so you'd have to export everything and reimport when you start it as a service. Not tried this yet - has anyone ? I have it running manually because of this - just never got round to try to fix it.

The only file you need to find is srvany.exe - if you copy the text below into a file (ie homeseer_service.reg), then run it. Next time you reboot, it'll be running as a service under the system account. This is valid for NT4/W2K/WXP

There are exes in the Win2k resource kit for running any app as a service.

You need two files and a few registry tweaks - I am sure that you will find
them on google.

The files you need to search for are:

srvany.exe - host program to wrap your app into a service
instsrv.exe - to install a new service into win2k
