    • An LD11 DIN Rail module sits in a standard consumer unit.
yes
  • The mains comes >from switch.
yes
  • The live to the light comes from the LD11 and the Neutral comes from the X10 consumer unit.
yes
  • The (momentary) light switch live comes from the X10 consumer unit, the neutral comes from the LD11.
there is only a live connection to the momentary
i.e. live > switch >momentary connection
  • They will work without any X10 interface and will just switch on/off, dim from the switch.
yes
  • When using an X10 interface such as with comfort, the interface sits before the first X10 consumer unit.
It sits anywhere
  • The X10 interface can sit anywhere on the mains and control the X10 devices.
yes
  • If I have upstairs and downstairs on different MCB's in the house consumer unit then I would need more than one X10 interface.
no but interference can in some cases be a problem
On a normal size house though it will all work
you should only really use one interface per controler
If you are crossing phases then you use a filter on each phase to couple through the signal
  • I can control a series of say 6 mains halogen lights as long as I don't go over 700watts
yes they will all go on and off together
for safety I never go right up to the Max wattage though

Sorry for being a bit long winded but don't want to mess it up.
buy a cheap controler and a plug in module first and have a play
if you are thinking of a big install it will save you money
