RE: [KAT5] Conecting UK phones to Cat 5

The other option is to use RJ-11 cables, as they'll plug into RJ-45 ok.
Just use a mix of BT-RJ-11 (modem style, 2 pair) to get the phone into
the patch panel system, then RJ-11 to RJ-11 will usually work the other
end (all but one phone (a cheap corded one) use RJ-11 sockets on the
bottom or back of them, which you can replace with RJ-11 to RJ-11 to
plug straight into a RJ-45 jack.

Good luck,
Ben

Hi,

Does anyone know of a site that explains how to connect my house phones
to
my Cat 5 network?

In the office they use an adaptor which has an RJ45 plug and a UK phone
socket. Which pin goes where? How do I connect more than one?

Kevin Roche
