Almost absolutely correct ... I have a KAT5 set which are configured as
four video channels so that I can send RGB+Sync *OR* Component Video
(Which is what I do) - This means I also have a spare video channel for
composite when needed. I plan to add an additional KAT5 to send S-Video.
The KAT5 is used to connect my DVD player / AV Rack to my video scaler
which sits beside my CRT projector.

I also use a KAT5 to send S-Video and Stereo Audio from my DVD
autochanger up to the main bedroom (a good 30m run) and the quality is
well up to par.

I have recently taken delivery of a TiVo and I have to say that unless
you're running composite then I wouldn't worry about the quality
difference between S-Video and RGB - the TiVo really doesn't cut it ...
Doing a direct comparison between an OnDigital signal routed through the
TiVo and an OnDigital signal watched via the "Live TV" option of
TiVo
you'll see that TiVo effectively does an auto-levels on the image which
really buggers up any highlights or shadow details.

Phil
