Yep, been there done that!

I use a couple of custom KAT5 modules to get S-Video from the amp to the
projector, the amp switches S-Video it does not switch RGB AFAIK, so
this was the simple solution and it does improve quality. So much so
that when I get an i-Scan Pro line doubler I reckon (read "hope")
it
should be nothing short of astounding given the money it cost to do.

Another reason for going for S-Video is that the i-Scan accepts S-Video
as an input no problem so no farting about basically it's all plug and
play, ten minutes and you're up and running.

The KAT5 modules made a huge improvement in quality over a 15M S-Video
lead and IMO you would be very, very hard pressed to tell whether the
source was placed right next to the display or (as much as I have
tested) 25M away...it's that good!
