NO.

The switcher will work in the S-Video or Composite domain transparently.

I am working on a KAT5 R2S TX which will take RGB in and output as S-Video,
I will also investigate the possiblity of C2S TX. Most modern TV's will
support S-Video. Those that dont will currently require a Composite source.

The switcher will have 8 channels. There is no reason why you cannot do the
following

1 DVD (S-Video)
2 Digibox(S-Video using R2S
3 S-VHS Video or Tivo (s-Video)
4 PC TVout (S-Video)
5 DVD (Composite)
6 Digibox (Composite)
7 VCR2 or Tivo (Composite)
8 CCTV Camera

The one good thing about SCART is that it supports both S-Video and
Composite through the same connector so you can toggle between Comp/S on
the
handset.
