"Cynthia McKinney's leftist media pass reflects Democrat 'culture of
corruption'
By Doug Schmitz

When it comes to vilifying Bush officials or other top Republicans on
what very often turns out to be just politically-motivated, media-hyped
bogus charges, as in the cases of Tom DeLay and Scooter Libby, the elite
media will drop everything to salivate over anything they perceive as
anti-Bush. But when a top Democrat lawmaker is alleged to have actually
broken the law, their leftist media enablers are deafeningly silent.
Such is the case now with Georgia Democrat Rep. Cynthia McKinney, who
has often been a featured keynote speaker at many anti-U.S. protests
that ceremonially condemn the Iraq War, President Bush and the U.S.
military, who protect the Left?s rights to protest against our troops
who do their jobs with extreme pride and loyalty. So when McKinney
shows complete disrespect towards a federal law enforcement officer for
performing his duties to protect this country from anyone trying to
violate our statutes, she?s displaying utter contempt for the very laws
she has sworn to uphold.
Yet, media leftists who demand endless apologies from Republicans ? and
slant the news against them if they don?t ? aren?t demanding an apology
from the unrepentant McKinney. In fact, after being cited for the fifth
time in yet another round with the American patriots of the U.S. Capitol
Police Department, McKinney won another free pass from her anti-American
media associates who routinely look the other way whenever a Clinton
Democrat breaks ? and think they are above ? the law.
It?s reflected in the way these same Democrats daily fantasize about
impeaching President Bush for nonexistent war crimes, while they and
their media allies had freely excused Bill Clinton?s adultery and
subsequent perjury before a federal grand jury. Now, they are
arrogantly gunning for every single Bush official as some kind of
demented payback for the GOP holding Clinton accountable for his very
real and prosecutable crimes. It?s another example of how Democrats and
the elite media always expect Republicans to live above reproach, yet
these same corrupt Democrats ? and their hypocritical media supporters ?
adamantly refuse to be held to the same standards.
But these are the very Democrats who stage bogus press conferences to
rant, rave and level false charges against Republicans that their media
pals immediately accept as credible. It?s also why they?ve accepted
McKinney?s phony apology, which was never an apology at all. At a
hastily thrown-together ?news? conference, McKinney even paraded before
the cameras her fellow anti-U.S., pro-totalitarian regime supporters
Harry Belafone and Danny Glover, who both, in no uncertain terms, have
referred to Bush as a terrorist, while they?ve openly embraced despots
like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.
This is also why media leftists allow Clinton Democrats to create the
setting, frame the conversation and distort the facts ? and let them get
away with it; whereas, Republicans are automatically indicted in the
court of public opinion without being afforded a fair and balanced
account because the Democrat Party?s press agents don?t care to hear the
truth from the GOP if it doesn?t line up with the partisan agendas of
their fellow Democrats.
Again, these same media leftists who always smell GOP blood in the water
and even circle around their own manufactured scandals against
Republicans like hungry vultures can?t seem to see blatant Democrat
corruption when it?s staring them right in the face.
For instance, in an April 10, 2006 Google search of stories on
Republican Tom Delay versus Democrat Alan Mollohan, who both have been
accused of House ethics violations, the elite media-driven articles
cited about DeLay?s non-scandal were in the double-digit millions,
compared to the scant coverage of Mollohan?s actual Democrat scandal:
Texas Republican Tom DeLay: 24,100,000 stories, with TIME, the
Washington Post, the New York Times and CNN front and center.
West Virginia Democrat Alan Mollohan: 118,000 stories, with TIME, the
Washington Post, the New York Times and CNN nowhere to be found.
What?s so striking about the scant 118,000 stories is Mollohan was
recently cited for committing over 250 House ethics violations by the
National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), which filed a complaint on Feb.
28 with the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, alleging that
Mollohan ?failed to disclose and grossly underreported his assets, loans
and interests in certain companies.?
Yet, these same Democrats and their leftist media allies at CNN, the New
York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today and ?60 Minutes,? who have
been screaming and hollering about DeLay?s so-called House ethics
violations, don?t hold their fellow Democrats like Mollohan and McKinney
to the same standards they hold DeLay to on a daily basis.
In fact, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on April 7, who
first defended McKinney but later backed off, claimed that ?Democrats
have a history of ethics reform? (CNSNews.com, April 10, 2006) in her
renewed attempts to paint the GOP as the alleged ?culture of
corruption,? now has strongly dismissed Mollohan?s political corruption.
?The Speaker (Illinois Republican Dennis Hastert) should join me in
directing the Ethics Committee to get to work, and not cast aspersions
on the independent and distinguished Ranking Member,? Pelosi said of
Mollohan.
Interestingly, when an April 10 Google search turned up a surprising
4,100,000 stories about McKinney?s deliberate run-in with the U.S.
Capitol Police, CNN, TIME, USA Today and the Times, the Post were also
nowhere to be found. Although the seemingly high level of cached
stories on McKinney may look like she?s being held accountable for her
actions, she, nonetheless, still has won another free media pass ? not
only because of the elite media?s lack of interest in the story but also
because of McKinney and her media cohorts? overridingly nonchalant and
flippant attitude towards terrorism.
What?s more, when you compare Mollohan?s Google story count to former
California Republican Rep. Randy ?Duke? Cunningham, who?s sitting in
prison right now after pleading guilty to bribery, it?s also reflective
of the partisan atmosphere in the elite media towards Republicans:
Cunningham garnered 1,240,000 stories to Mollohan?s 118,000. Because
Mollohan and McKinney are Democrats, their actual political corruption
won?t even reach ad-nauseum proportions because they aren?t conservative
Republicans.
Still another example of this kind of double standard is the free elite
media pass that Illinois Democrat Gov. Rod Blagojevich received for
something Bush and Cheney never would have gotten away with, without the
stalking notice of the leftist media.
After making a complete fool of himself on ?The Daily Show? for not even
realizing that the week-night program is a political spoof (mainly
directed at Republicans, of course), Blagojevich was saved from further
embarrassment by his Democrat friends at CNN.
The actual Feb. 24, 2006 Associated Press story read:
Blagojevich says he didn?t realize ?The Daily Show? was a comedy spoof
of the news when he sat down for an interview that ended up poking fun
at the sometimes-puzzled Democratic governor.
But CNN decided to intervene on Blagojevich?s behalf and change the
story to:
Blagojevich says he didn?t realize ?The Daily Show? was a comedy spoof
of the news when he sat down for an interview that ended up poking fun
at the sometimes- puzzled governor.
In effect, CNN, a transparently anti-GOP, anti-U.S. network,
deliberately deleted the Illinois Democrat?s party affiliation out of
pure partisanship, instead of playing it fair and balanced, which they
never would have done for a Republican. (And CNN is the one falsely
claiming that Fox News is in the tank for Bush, when CNN still
propagates for Democrats ? and anti-U.S. despots ? as its ratings
continue to plummet.)
Another Democrat scandal that was also widely ignored by the elite media
involved Illinois Democrat Cong. Jan Schakowsky?s husband, Robert
Creamer. According to The Hill (April 5, 2006), Creamer was sentenced
to five months in prison and 11 months house arrest on April 5 for a
1990s check-kiting scam when he headed the now-defunct Illinois Public
Action Council, which was supposedly a consumer advocacy group.
But an April 10 Google search only managed to cough up a measly 510
stories on Creamer?s bank fraud, also with CNN, TIME, USA Today and the
Times and the Post nowhere to be found. However, if Schakowsky were a
Republican, her husband?s mug would have continually aired on CNN ? and
been splashed on the Times ?several times.
Still, one of the most ignored Democrat scandals that recently reemerged
has involved Hillary Clinton?s former campaign manager, Peter Frank
Paul, who filed a lawsuit against Bill Clinton, alleging that the former
president reneged on a $17 million business deal.
Worldnetdaily.com reported on April 8 that Paul claimed ?Sen. Clinton
pulled off the biggest campaign-finance fraud in history,? by
?separately? preparing to file a complaint with the Federal Election
Commission charging the Democratic senator with submitting a false
report ? for a fourth time ? that hides his personal donation of a
multi-million dollar Hollywood gala and fund-raiser that helped put her
in office.?
After skimming through the first 110 stories of 5,210,000 cached
articles on Google about the Hillary-Paul story, CNN, the Times, the
Post, USA Today, the Boston Globe, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, TIME, Newsweek,
etc. also ignored this whopper.
?New York Sen. Hillary Clinton?s media friends have fired the first
journalistic salvo in their bid to discredit accuser Peter Paul,?
reported Nexmax.com (Feb. 9, 2005), ?whose testimony and documentation
helped the feds put together an indictment of her 2000 Senate campaign
finance director last month.?
Newsmax.com added that ?a nearly 2,000-word report in the New York Times
trashed Paul as a ?troubled? character with ?a checkered past? who
?turned on Bill and Hillary in a bid to extricate himself from
prosecution.?
?In fact, the Times report spent more time trying to undermine Mr.
Paul?s credibility than it did explaining the evidence against Sen.
Clinton ? and went out of its way to portray her campaign finance
director, David Rosen, as someone who was victimized by the ?desperate?
witness anxious to save his own skin.?
Yet another example of the Times? leftist bias against Republicans
occurred when one of the Old Grey Lady?s most fiercely partisan
reporters, Robin Toner, actually accused Tom DeLay of being responsible
for ?the most complex and contentious legacy from their conservative
reign on Capitol Hill? in his 11 supposedly ?tumultuous years.?
In a so-called ?news analysis,? (code for ?op-ed?) on April 5, 2006,
headlined ?A Partisan Leaves; Will an Era Follow?? Toner unleashed her
wrath ? and revealed the real reason for the collective leftist media?s
hatred for DeLay:
?But he was also a man who, perhaps more than any other, embodied the
fierce partisanship of his era ? a prime mover behind the impeachment of
President Bill Clinton, a practitioner of take-no-prisoners electoral
politics and a legislative strategist who many Democrats asserted saw no
real role for the minority in the legislative process,? Toner inveighed.
But that?s the real story behind Democrats like Mollohan and McKinney,
who continually receive free passes in the mainstream media for openly
subverting the law. For McKinney, because she?s an African-American
female Democrat, she wins special added sympathy from the nearly 90
percent of the patently partisan reporters who perennially vote
Democrat. In Mollohan?s case, the leftist media have been too busy
pulverizing and crucifying DeLay to even care about the real culture of
corruption involving Democrats like McKinney and Mollohan, who routinely
get excused, while Republicans get demonized mostly for the merest
appearance of impropriety.
While DeLay reluctantly stepped down from his prominent position as
House Majority leader, McKinney, like Bill Clinton, arrogantly refused
to resign, despite years of documented political and ethical corruption
? and with no outrage from the leftist media. But, again, had they been
Republicans, NBC ?News? hack David Gregory, MSNBC?s leftist pit bulls
Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann, and CNN?s anti-Bush propagandist
Jack Cafferty would be screaming at the top of their lungs and calling
for their heads. That?s also why Republican scandals are always
prominently featured on Web sites like Yahoo!, AOL and MSN.com, while
actual Democrat scandals are ignored.
Simply put, the elite press doesn?t care to address the scandals of
their own Democrat Party because that would put them in a bad light and
take the focus off their hatred for Bush, which is why the real crimes
and misdemeanors of corrupt Democrats like McKinney and Mollohan are
largely ignored. But if the hard news-starved American public has
learned anything from the complete moral and ethical corruption of Bill
Clinton and his media allies, it?s that Clinton and Al Gore were allowed
to get away with the biggest political scandals of the 20th Century that
are now being blamed on Bush.
So, while McKinney is pulling out the race card ? instead of her I.D.
card via a lapel pin ? she, once again, instantly gets off the hook with
the elite media. The very fact that McKinney has repeatedly used race
as an excuse to do whatever she wants is the other issue at hand that
her spineless Democrat pals like Pelosi are now running away from in
droves. They don?t mind supporting her lies and distortions of the
facts ? as long as they don?t distract from their shared, distorted
misinformation crusade against Bush. But once fellow loony Democrats
like McKinney start to make them look as foolish as they really are,
their so-called support for their fellow crackpots dwindles, which is
why their hypocrisy is reflected back into the cesspool of their media
supporters.
The bottom line with McKinney is, had she been a white, conservative
Republican male ? or female, she most certainly would be showing up on
CNN ? all day. But because McKinney has used her skin color as a trump
card whenever she feels the need to act like a domestic terrorist, her
media allies let her pass through their own checkpoints that lack its
facts and objectivity. In McKinney?s case, her media allies don?t care
about getting the facts about her alleged assault of a U.S. Capitol
police officer, who was just doing his job. Again, if McKinney would
have been a white, conservative Republican male or female, the elite
media would be asking for her resignation ? as well as her head on a
platter. That?s why McKinney loves playing the victim of her own racism
in her sophomoric cries for attention, which her new whacked-out hairdo
has also provided.
But KcKinney?s leftist media-ignored flippant attitude towards all
authority reflects her own party?s overall attitude towards the war on
terrorism. This was evident when Pelosi, who also holds endless press
conferences with the number-one goal of embarrassing the White House,
claimed that McKinney?s reckless disregard for the law ?was no big deal.?
In effect, then, McKinney acts like a domestic terrorist by slapping a
federal law enforcement officer and then expects them to go easy on her,
while, at the same time, she also expects the Bush Administration to go
easy on terrorists who slam planes into our buildings, killing thousands
of innocent citizens? (After all, McKinney is the same crazy loon who
once brazenly accused Bush of knowing about Sept. 11 beforehand.) All
this with the leftist media?s blessing, while they smear Republicans for
much less.
But it?s also typical of an out-of-control leftist media culture that
excuses the crimes and misdemeanors of their fellow Democrats and other
terrorists, while looking for ? or even making up ? scandals against
Republicans simply because of their immense hatred for Bush (i.e., ?60
Minutes? releasing the Abu Ghraib photos after they told the U.S.
military they wouldn?t; Newsweek fabricating the Koran story; the Times
leaking classified information about the NSA?s wiretapping program,
which was being used as an effective dragnet for catching terrorists;
the Post divulging CIA?s secret prisons, etc.).
What?s more, with New York Times editors daily lambasting Bush?s alleged
missteps and misdeeds, their plummeting readership most likely won?t
find them condemning McKinney?s unprofessional and downright-bizarre
behavior whenever she happens to find herself around anyone in uniform,
of whom she deludes herself into thinking is discriminating against her
because she?s black. But, in effect, they are really just forcing her
to face her own racial prejudices, of which McKinney is too proud to
admit she holds.
Like 98 percent of their fellow Democrats, the leftist media that
support them have also forgotten about the Sept. 11 attacks on our
nation ? and have chosen to forget them. It shows up in the way they
relentlessly attack the Bush Administration by portraying them as the
enemy and the terrorists as the victims of America?s so-called
?oppression.? But in the Blame-America-First Democrat Party and their
media enablers? real culture of corruption, it?s as if 9/11had never
even happened.
It has certainly shown up in the way Democrats like McKinney behave
towards God-ordained authority, which includes Bush, our troops ? and
the U.S. Capitol Police Department, which is one of our first lines of
defense against terrorism ? and why McKinney should possibly be
prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law.
It would serve to remind the American public that Democrats can no
longer get away with breaking the law or receive kudos and a free pass
from their media supporters for repeatedly doing so.
