Re: X-10 friendly switchmode PS



I'm afraid that knowing the switching frequency is of little use in
determining whether a particular supply will cause problems for X-10 &
Insteon.

While there have been many reports of "noisy" supplies, I doubt that noise
is really the problem. Only a few people have reported measuring noise with
any of the available X-10 signal strength meters.

The more common problem is a 0.1µF capacitor used as a line filter to
prevent noise from reaching the mains. There's no correlation with the
switching frequency.

And there have been many reports here of laptop supplies that caused X-10
problems.
