X10 camera IR filter removal?

Has anyone ever done it on the X10 Wireless Color Camera (XC18A)?

Difficult?

I'm planning to replace my cameras with something better anyway. The X10
low line cams require WAY too much light to be very useful. I think I'll
try converting one to an IR cam and build an IR panel to light the area
where it's used.
