Nope. It's very easy to capture even very low power RF. All it takes is the
right gear. And it's not expensive. 20dB gain from DC to 5GHz with an MMIC
from MiniCircuits costs about a buck plus a few passives. You can cascade 2
or more if needed. No RF is inherently short range.
