This is off-topic here but very much on topic in comp.dcom.telecom.tech
(http://www.cabling-design.com/forums/comp.dcom.telecom.tech-newsgroup14-.htm)
You'll get much more response if you post there.
Anyways, you do not specify what type of sets you are talking about:
regular analog phones will work just fine. Partner feature phones (ETR
type) will not work due to power restrictions for the extension port as
well as some possible set-to-processor communication collisions. I have to
admit I have never put two ETR sets on a single port for fear of burning
it out (Partner phones have backlit LCD and draw considerable amounts of
power), but I'm sure it is not going to be reliable, even if it does
initially work.
