Newbe Vista-20P question

Someone gave me a Vista-20p and a couple wired control panels.  No modules.=
  I thought I'd see if I could make it work and make sense of it before I i=
nvested.  I've got it set up on my work bench.  It seems that the default i=
nstaller code is still good and I used the *97 to reset it to defaults.  I =
put 2k resistors across all the zone connections.  I can go into installer =
mode and look at settings.  But when I exit the installer mode it says "Fau=
lt 07".  I can't find anything online to explain that?
