The problem is ..... Natural Selection is superceded in our present society=
. The defects in our society are supported, allowed to co-exist, helped to =
exist, encouraged to exist. It is even mandated by law that they must be pa=
id for and supported by the rest of society. That they be given tax breaks,=
 free drugs, food, places to live, without contributing to their existence =
and that of society. In the world of Natural Selection, if the fat, the wea=
k, the sick, the mentally incapable, the contrary the stupid etc,  hinder o=
r can't keep up with the rest of the tribe and/or can't support themselves =
..... they die. Thousands and thousands of years ago, if any were not able =
to keep up, they volunteered or were forced to stay behind because they wou=
ld hinder the progress of the whole tribe. Now days, we are the only specie=
s that preserves it's defects and we justify that by saying that we are hum=
an and "different" from the "animals". There is this myth that exists that =
reasons that, .... because we have superior intelligence over the other spe=
cies that we are not animals and thereby deny that our survival is still go=
verned by the same natural laws of survival and selection. =20


Now days, in spite of self inflicted or inherited ineptitude, defects are i=
ntegrated into our society, reproduce and dilute the gene pool, resulting i=
n a de-evolution of the species. (They impede the progress of the tribe.) T=
he more they are supported the bigger a portion of our society they become =
and a bigger hindrance to progress they become. That is ... the producers s=
pend more time/energy/money supporting the inept and thereby can contribute=
 less to the progress of the tribe. Thus it follows that the increase in po=
pulation of the inept have a greater influence on what happens in the socie=
ty .... which obviously favors more support for the inept. I think we may h=
ave reached the tipping point today, where the size of the population made =
up of these kind of  people has grown to the point that they now have the b=
iggest influence over what happens in our society.=20


I just read that the general intelligence of the human race has declined ov=
er the past thousand years or so. Hmmmm I wonder why? You would think that =
after so many bad results through the centuries when humans have tried to "=
help" nature, that they'd finally leave it alone. But ....leave it to the a=
rrogance of the human species to try to change what Natural Selection has p=
roved to work for millions of years and then have the audacity to wonder wh=
y things are getting worse.=20

Natural selection works .... but without "help".=20
It says, very simply,    .... for the best chance of a species survival, ke=
ep moving ahead. Those that can't keep up under their own power or cannot c=
ontribute more than they consume to the tribe, .... die. Those that survive=
 will, through the years of evolution, change for the better and hopefully =
improve the species. But not always. It's just the this is best chance of s=
urvival, under the best of conditions.=20

As proof ... this seems to have worked to get us this far. But now that we =
think .... we can think .... we've lost sight of the process that got us to=
 this point in our evolution.
