Making assumptions

I have never dealt with Europlex but made erroneous assumptions
regarding the loops.

New business taking over an old Circuit City building.

Nearly a hundred protection points through 4 splice points each with 3
expanders in it.

Using a V-128FBPN to replace the Europlex and the new folks only want
doors and a few motions - 21 points in total including poc's to Simplex
Panel.

Got all the wires ID'd and found each splice point had 3 6-conductors
going to head end which meant I could run each point right to the head
end and do everything with two expanders instead of four - Oh sure, I
did have one splice box that now has NO spares... but hopefully they
will not need any more points from that area.

Couldn't find the eolr's. Finally I had a thought and did what I should
have done from the get go - I metered the door contacts.

While normal (magnet applied) I got 500 ohm reading. Tripped (magnet
removed) I got 1.5 Kohms.

Now just what the heck am I to do with that? Sure, great for
supervision - shitty for changing out the panel.

Nothing for it but to order 7 door contacts and 4 overhead door contacts.

For even more fun and excitement, the Fire Marshall did his walk through
and revoked their temp occupancy 'cause they needed more emergency exits
- guess there were plenty for a Circuit City but not for a fireworks store.

But I'm ready for 'em, wires run and all set to install the contacts
when the doors are done. There were some construction type fellas there
Friday making all sorts of noise as they made holes in the block.

Should be able to wrap it up Monday...
