You can use a lot higher resolution cameras than that over the Internet.
Many of the 2 and 3 megapixel cameras will work at various refresh rates,
and you can also adjust the remotely served resolution in setup.  Its time
for you to start reading some spec sheets.

As far as "security," in this day and age regular classic CCTV cameras (380
lines) are about worthless for satisfaction level of the user.

Again time for you to do some more research into what is available in IP
cameras.
