Correct.

Yes, it's all standard stuff compatible with any panel.

Nope. It's cheaper for them to leave everything behind then to plug holes in
walls and match paint.

They never come back to get their stuff. Save the board and keypad for awhile
just in case.

Here's a Vista20P w/ 6160 keypad for $139 (excellent deal)
<http://cgi.ebay.com/Ademco-Honeywell-VISTA-20P-w-6160-Custom-Alpha-Keypad_W0QQitemZ170297366372QQcmdZViewItemQQptZHome_Security?hash=item170297366372&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50>

(Item # 170297366372 if the URL breaks)

Note: You'll need the 6160 keypad for programming (rather than the cheaper
6139).
