Actually, the case affected the many thousands of consumers of Bay Alarm
Company services, as Bay Alarm Company changed its behavior.

And the millions of consumers who subscribe to other different alarm
monitoring services nationwide benefit (with the freedom from being
locked out of panels they own) as well, as the alarm industry has been
served notice that such anti-consumer, anti-competitive, behavior is not
permissible.

Because of the lawsuit, other alarm companies are much less likely to
lock-out consumers from customer-owned panels.

For example, surely your company does not lock-out consumers from panels
they own...
