No doubt.
It would appear that Doug had a legitimate point if we ignore the
part he snipped. The original comment was "It seems some alarm
companies are charging over three times dealer cost for the part and
then tacking on labor to replace analog cellular dialers."
I'm delighted that alarm companies grossly overcharge there
customers. It makes it much easier for me to sell the same hardware
at a reasonable markup (about 20% to 30% on most items). The DIY
customer not only saves between 50% and 75% on the materials. He
also saves 100% of the inflated labor rates that dealers charge.
Finally, by selecting 911Alarm.com or NextAlarm.com, the DIYer can
save from 50% to 75% of the monitoring fees. If he's not interested
in monitoring service the DIY customer is not required to sign on
just to be able to buy a system.
