I didn't say that. The point, which you completely missed, is that
there Muslm extremists were rare in Iraq and those that were there
had neither the power nor the opportunity to do us any harm -- until
the Idiot started his unholy war against Saddam. It was and is
George W. Bush that caused all of the loss of American lives in Iraq
for the past several years. It will primarily be his fault when they
hit us the next time.
Bush doesn't want to *win* the so-called War on Terror. He wants to
keep us at war because in the greedy, amoral minds of his handlers,
therein lies opportunity to hustle the American economy for billions
of dollars in the lining of their corporate pockets. The other
motive was political gain. Bush correctly believed that by waging
war he could win a second term. That and financial gain are all this
ever was about. Now that the public (well, those of us who can think
at least) is thoroughly fed up with Bush and his illegal war, the
political gain is turning to political ruin for the Repugnican party.
The only remaining reasons now for them to "stay the course" are
financial gain and Bush's disgusting ego. Like you, he will never
admit he was terribly wrong. Every day American boys pay with their
lives for that ego and for Chaney's financial gain.
Remember, Bush had Bin Laden surrounded by *our* forces in
Afghanistan. We could have dealt a decisive blow to Al-Queda.
Instead Bush ordered "the troops" he's so fond of pretending to
support to back off and let the tribal leaders, many of whom were
already known to be Al-Queda sympathizers, take over. The result was
exactly what the Bush administration wanted. Bin Laden slipped away
and Bush could go on pretending he was trying to defeat him.
> Of course, because Islam is the religion of peace.
There are fools and liars who pretend to be followers of every
religion. Al-Queda is no better nor worse than the Christian Church
during the time of the inquisition and the crusades. Buddhists,
Muslims, Christians and even Jews have done terrible things to other
people in the names of their respective gods. That doesn't make
Christianity an evil, violent religion and it doesn't make true
Muslims evil or violent. Nonetheless, bigoted, small-minded people
of every faith will always take the worst example of the "other"
faiths and say, "See. They're all evil monsters and we need to kill
them." The KKK did the same thing here and if you ask them almost to
a man they will claim to be Christians who support "family values"
(whatever those might be).

Yeah, Saddam was an evil scum. I'm glad he's gone. No one will miss
Uday and Qusay or their third brother, Hudat" (no one knows what he
looks like) either. That much could have been accomplished with a
few well-placed cruise missiles and not a single American casualty.
But that was not what Bush wanted. He doesn't give a rat's olson
about your marine buddies. Their bravery and their very lives mean
nothing to Bush -- dust in the wind.
I don't fault most of our troops for the way they are doing their job
in Iraq. It is the leaders who aught to be run out on a rail. In
November we'll get the tar and feathers ready (figuratively, of
course).
