Re: Brinks Home Security Rip Off Alerts
The average brinks customer fills out 5-6 or more different forms.
This is done at the time just prior to installation. So it's no
wonder why many of these Brink's customers have no idea what they are
really getting into until its too late. I don't know if this
practice has changed any, but I do recall many installers
quitting because they aren't paper pushers. The average tech
would spend 40 minutes getting the customer to fill all the
required forms while contacting the customer support center
to get the account activated & verified before they even drill
a hole. In my opinion, this should be handled by the lazy sales
department. Since the customer never retained a copy they can
read, how would they know what they are getting into?
If I attempted to totally disable a leased system here for non
payment, or for any reason, I would be committing a crime. All I
can legally do is place the account in default. I must still
respond to any emergency fire, medical & panic signals regardless.
We can only ignore all burglary signals. I must leave a fully
functional system. I can then file a petition to the court to
retrieve my equipment. Then you would be given a rit which you
hand an officer to escort you to enforce. That is the law.
Shame on brinks for thinking security is a luxury. The same
rules apply to telephone services. You can cancel only outgoing calls,
but all emergency dispatch numbers must stay in operation at all
times, even after many years of no service. The South African government
realized that a security system falls into the same guidelines. We have
the same rules concerning electrical, water, sewer, gas or any other
service deemed a necessity in todays world.
No one in South Africa is ever denied medical assistance, because of their
inability to pay. America is a great country, but it treats most of its
working class citizens like dogs when it comes to healthcare. If a doctor
is caught stealing from the system, he is quickly escorted to jail for 10-15
years. After he gets released, he is free to practice again pending government
approval. If he screws the pooch a second time, he is either given a life sentence
or executed.
Doctors, lawyers, or any government approved professional are given a free home,
a free vehicle, and free utilities for life. Its a perk.
Their wages are controlled by the government, and believe me, doctors here
live good. They are free to do whatever they wish, but selling narcotics on the
internet is a big no no, same with steriods and viagra & such.
American politicians have their hands in to many pockets, that's why companies
like brinks get away with it. here a doctors average salary is $50,000 USD.
The cost of living here is a third of what it is in the USA. And there are no
malpractice insurance worries. So a doctor, lawyer, or civil servant here are
committed to their craft, not committed to line their pockets with the publics
hard earned cash.
We are also encourage to contribute to our own retirement accounts. There is no silly
$2,000 limit per year like in the USA. I contribute one third of my salary to my
retirement. No pension worries, no 401K worries. So when the time comes, there is no
need to file for Medicaid type plans or social security type benefits. My burial expenses
are also part of the government plan. Why burden my loved ones?

Mr. Squirrel:
I'm suggesting that people whose cognitive deficiencies prevent them for
reading or understanding a contract such as a Brinks long term service
agreement take that contact to a trusted friend or an attorney so the terms
of contract can be explained to them in words they can understand. If you
think this is supporting Brinks then I would group you with those whose
deficiencies in understanding
suggest they should seek help from others before agreeing to long term
obligations they may later come to regret.
On the other hand if people are just too damn lazy or too irresponsible to
bother to read or know what they obligated themselves to, then I say to
them: Pay up Sucker. Maybe it will be a learning experience for them.
To everybody else I say live up to what you have contracted to do.
Good luck Mr. Squirrel.
