I sometimes get a kick out of people who criticize the NRA for their
lobbying efforts, for their ability to sway elected official and to be
the
cause of poiticians being ousted or voted for. But ...... What's
actually
wrong with that? Isn't that what this whole democracy and freedom to
choose, is all about? To me, as you say, it's the ONLY way to do it.
It's the people who are of like mind, creating a force that is to be
reckoned
with. It's just funny to hear people criticize exactly what they would
do if
they had enough people and organization to do it.

I've shot competitively only locally in years past, but no more. When
I was
a small boy and started shooting and in my earlier years, ear
protection
was never even considered. Now, even with the best protection, my
ears
really bother me when I shoot anything bigger than .22 And even that
affects
me if I do it for few hours. Every great once in a while, I'll break
out my .357 and
even with ear plugs and cover, I suffer for a week later. Only
advantage
is, I can't hear my wife too. ( No dear, I didn't say that .... it was
someone
else!)

Welcome aboard. I've been a member for close to 40 years.
