Problem is the alcohol in E85 has about half the energy of gasoline, the
product is artificially low priced because it's heavily government
subsidized AND there are issues with requiring using as much energy (oil) to
create the alcohol in the first place. It's far harder to make alcohol from
corn than sugar beats like Brazil.

Also there aren't enough cornfields to really ramp up serious production and
you start displacing food stock
