No, it's not. I don't know if you're old enough to remember Vietnam. The problem there was three-fold. First, the White House
lied continually about the excuses for going to war in the first place and then about the progress of the war. Second, the White
House "managed" the war instead of letting the generals have free reign to do what they needed to actually win it. As a result,
America lost a war to a tiny, third-world country with extremely limited resources. Finally, due partly to our failed military
efforts and more so to abuses against civilians and suspected enemy combatants, the population gradually turned against us.

If this sounds familiar it is because George W. Bush is so incredibly stupid and arrogant that not only doesn't he know why we lost
the Vietnam war but he doesn't realize he's repeating the same mistakes. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction. He lied
about intelligence reports. He lied about Bin Laden supposedly being tight with Saddam. He lies now about the progress of the war.
He's not even mentioning the fact that over 100,000 mercenaries who are running rampant in Iraq with no military supervision are
working for a well-known government contractor -- Halliburton.

If Bush would allow the military to prosecute the war on Iraq (the very idea of a "war on terror" is ludicrous) the whole thing
would be over in less time than it takes for Bush to say something stupid. But then, if he hadn't lied, we wouldn't be fighting
this war in the first place. Instead, we'd have had enough resources to catch Bin Laden, try him and hang him. We'd have had
enough National Guardsmen to save a lot of American lives in New Orleans. Most importantly, over 3,200 troops Bush pretends to give
a rat's ass about would not have been slaughtered on the altar of his ego.

Now for some on-topic material. I sell burglar alarms.
