The real problem is that Israel has lots of nuclear weapons, and isn't
afraid to use them.  That means the Arab countries will feel duty-bound to
have their own nuclear weapons, so as to even things up.

Sooner or later, somebody's going to use one.  And then, the other side
will use a few more, and then the other guys will retaliate, and before you
know it, millions of people will be dead and dying.  At that point, both
sides will be wringing their hands, pointing fingers at each other.

It's going to happen.  It's just a matter of time.

I think people have largely forgotten the horrors of Hiroshima and
Nagasaki.  They look at Japan, see that the cities have been rebuilt, and
figure maybe nuclear weapons aren't really so bad after all.  I am afraid
it will take another holocaust to change their minds.
