Nope. They had suspended him for two weeks and were planning on
waiting for it to blow over. Two days later, as soon as the big
advertisers started pulling out, they fired him on the spot. Imus had
a relatively large audience and quite a career prior to this. He also
had a track record of insulting and picking on all sorts of people.
This was just the first time Sharpton noticed.
