Nah .... two is enough and hardly ever use the two that I have at the
same time. It's like when there's a fight on ( which my wife hates) and
she wants to record a movie or something from the "Love movies that
make you gag " channel ....... it alleviates "tension" in the
household. Besides, with the consumer DVR's you get the channel program
listings automatically downloaded every night right into the device
.... for the life of the unit .... if you pay the $200.00 up front when
you buy it. And since you can always get replacement hard disks, that's
a long, long time. I've had one DVR for about 8 years now. Pretty soon
now, the HD DVR's will come down enough in pricing and I'll have to get
one of those. Also waiting for the Blue Ray, HD format war to settle
down so I can try out one of those suckers.
For those of you who haven't ventured into the home theater venue yet,
I gotta tell ya, the money is great. People are willing to pay a lot
more for entertainment than security. You've got to do your homework
and find out what all the jargon, formats, inputs and outputs are for,
but once you do, it's a piece of cake. The end users don't have a clue
of what to buy or when they do .... how to hook it up properly.
Subscribe to some of the audio/video/home theater magazines and start
reading. It's not all that hard to get in to.
Also, it gives you an excuse to give your wife for why you have to buy
all these gadgets so you can learn how to use them and make more money
........... ;->
