It's true what I said about duct smokes..

What I meant to say in the elevator recall case is that the code use
to require a recall of all cars to the first floor, unless the fire
was detected on it.   Otherwise the cars shall go to an alternate.

this was on a general alarm.  They amended the code sometime in 1999
(I think) to require smokes (or addressable equivalent)  to control
the recall, rather than a general alarm relay.
