Sounds like a DS control . . . .

Control Trouble error #87 can be anything, AC Fail, Battery etc. etc. you
have to do #87 to view the actual trouble if you are looking at a DS panel,
and usually the higher models are installed with a LCD keypad. Can it be a
DS7440 ?
