Why would they file file criminal charges?

If thy are as evil and psychopathic as you claim, and they routinely
rummage through your apartment as you sleep then what you really have to
look forward to is waking up some night (maybe tonight) staring down the
barrel of a silenced 357 magnum, or perhaps you will be awakend by 7
inches of cold steel sliding up through your rib cage into your heart.

Neither one requires a psychopath to obtain a warrant.
