lose phone conversation when arming alarm??

Subject: lose phone conversation when arming alarm??

when we arm or disarm our alarm system, if we are on the phone, we lose
the connection / lose the conversation and must wait a minute or so
before we can dial out again. is this normal with alarms? thanks.
