ok...how about this...running 3 or 4 zones to expansion type keypads..saves
a ton of wire and time?

run one side of the house to mbr keypad, front of the house to fd keypad,
etc... ??

same problem ya think?

---how would this differ from the olden days when guys would run wires to
junction boxes then interconnects to panel?---

Crash. If you explain to the customer that the product you're pre-wiring
for is *designed* for this type of installation and readily available
through any distributor/alarm company, you shouldn't have a problem...
Every manufacturer I know now sells addressable systems. You'd be doing
your client a huge favour if you spent the time wiring his house properly.
Home-running all your runs just doesn't make sense if the house you're doing
is over 3500 square feet or has multiple levels. If the guy decides to call
in a "trunk slammer", what do you think *he's* gonna do?? If he's able to
recognize what you've done, he should be able to access the exact same
products to "fit the bill".
