Because one of Bass's self admitted favorite things to do to someone
who disagrees with him, is to locate his employer or suppliers and make
up stories to get his detractors in trouble.

I'm surprised you haven't seen reference to the numerous times he's
done this to people. A number of years ago, after Bass had stolen some
information from someone in an aviation group, everyone in the group
chasitised him. He then tried to "ransome" his way back into acceptance
by giving back the information. But he'd already shown his true colors.
He subsequently reported some one in the group to FAA or some relevant
flying organization, as flying while intoxicated, with no proof, just
to get even with him. He's done similar things to others too. If he
could find out where Frank was employed, he'd do his best to attempt to
destroy his reputation. Bass has repeatedly stated that he's searched
and made telephone calls to various people in Franks area, attempting
to find information about him. Frank, being at least as cautious as I
am, fortunately has concealed his identity sufficiently to avoid Bass's
inquiries. Thus Bass assumes that Frank is merely a "counter clerk".

Stick around Crash. Every day you'll gain a little more insight to the
manevolence of our infamous Mr. Fat Ass Bass
