That's plan B - I was thinking in the first instance that cards which
are actually getting skipped would be the best (as there's no danger of
you forgetting and plugging it back in again)

Personally, I have an entire box of dead mobos (mostly with embedded
nics) so this works both ways - enhanced WAF due to Junk removal, and
MACs to use for toys and projects!

How about looking for old ISA cards on eBay. Hardly any PC's use ISA now
so there should be a load about that someone will be looking for.

Obviously there would be a cost involved but given that xPL and UKHA_D
members are distributed all over the UK it might be possible for a
"volunteer" to be found who could collect the cards and recover
the MAC
addresses.

If you could get say 100 cards for a tenner that only works out at 10p
per MAC address :-)
